adventures in retail
after 10 years of faithful service i have decided it is time to retire my bed. today i signed a piece of paper promising to start paying for it's replacement in june. the interesting thing for me was how little attention i recieved while wandering around in my leathers and how the attitude changed after the credit check was performed. mortgages make for happy creditors it seems.

shame it doesn't impact on delivery time and i still have to wait at least a week for satisfaction. you see me shiver with anticip.

yeah.. know the feeling.. had a very similar situation slobbing into farmers after moving house that day.. at a quarter to closing time.. (was totally ignored).. until we went "oh, we want to buy a bed" (minor interest) "wow, that one's great, can we take it? now?" (most expensive bed they had. more interest). "hmm, we also need a tv and a stereo and some kitchenware, is that ok?" (personal attention from 3 staff).

ahh, that was a funny night. walked out 15 minutes later with, basically, the contents of a house. hehehe.
